A Dialing Plan is a set of rules for deciding if and how outbound
calls are made. For example it can be used to say if the number starts with 9 strip the 9
and then make the call on an external line.
Dial Based Rules
Remove digits: strips the first x digits from the start of the number.
Prepend: adds digits to the start of the phone number.
Dial on Line: specifies on which SIP line to dial out if the number starts with the digits specified.
If the number starts with: these are the digits that the number must start with to apply to the dial rule.
A typical use is to have 9 as the prefix for external calls. To set this up use "9" as the "number starts with" and "1" as the "remove digits" (to strip the 9).
Add SIP Rule
A2 VoIP allows you to make calls to addresses like alice@atlanta.com. This is not used very often because it does not work from hardware phones. But if you need to you can route outbound calls based on their destination host.
If SIP host is: type the SIP proxy name of your SIP provider here (eg. atlanta.com).
Dial on line: specify what SIP line you want to dial out on if that host is used.
If none of the above apply: specify what line to use if no dial rules or SIP rules apply to the phone call in question. Select "[Extension]" if you want to dial to another extension number within your network. Select "[Blocked]" if you want to block the phone call.
